Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who’s enjoying himself.

Under the Influence
“What have you there?” Lapis asked in mellow tones.
Jacques blinked. He couldn’t remember picking up the pen, yet there was a sort of rune-thingie on the paper before him. “I drew this?”
“With my guidance.”
“Does it do anything?”
“Certainly.” Lapis fluttered his fingers at it. “If imbued, it should function.”
Gingko snorted. “Lapis, shouldn’t you prompt him to do things he’ll want to resist?”
Lapis hummed. “Not at this juncture.”
A blue-tipped claw drew across the sigil, which sparkled, lifted, and spun away with a twinkling like chimes.
Jacques reached for it and whispered, “Can we do another?”
