Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially for the one who is entirely susceptible.

Speaking from Experience
The next time Lapis warbled, Jacques didn’t jump away. However, he made sure to keep Argent between him and the business end of the dragon. And searched for signs of danger.
No unsightly jut of teeth. No ominous jet of steam.
No hissing or flicking or gaping about the maw.
Only a luminous pair of sapphire eyes set into a shapely head, crowned by horns that looked more like pale coral than the antlers of a forest animal.
“Make peace, or you will be sorry,” said Argent. “Train with Lapis or spend your years dancing attendance upon Kyrie’s every whim.”
