Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one in the middle.

Flight or Flight
Jacques squared his shoulders, turned around, and fought the urge to flee.
“Can we further define terms?” Jacques lacked the nerve for this. Even if he were to admit that sunlight on dragon scales created a prettyish shine, he preferred to admire it from a safe distance. “Perhaps a hint to my prize?”
Argent didn’t answer.
“As incentive?” Jacques wheedled.
Not so much as a tsk.
Miffed, he aimed a pout over his shoulder, only to encounter the muzzle of another monster. Or a blessing in disguise. Because scrambling away pushed him closer to the dragon.
Wouldn’t Argent be pleased?

LOL! Huge fox herds him to huge dragon! Stuck in the middle and no place to run! Leave it to Argent to give him no way out. But you know…you live with these fabulous creatures, you had better deal.
