Adjusting

This, That, and the Other Thing. For reasons, I need to tweak my publishing plans for the rest of this year. The most pertinent bit is the necessary delay of Rhomiko and the Confirmed Bachelor. While the book is coming along *beautifully,* it’s mathematically impossible to for me to finish the first draft before my hoped-for release date. And pushing it off a few weeks would mean colliding with travel plans and holiday doings. SO! I’m officially changing my tentative release date for the final book in the Amaranthine Saga to … “Winter 2024.” Could be January. Could be February. Who can say? Once I know where we land, I’ll set up pre-orders and make the announcement.

One bright side to this adjustment is … I should be able to reveal the first book in my next/new series around the same time the Amaranthine Saga is wrapping up. That’d be ideal. And the breathing room is nice, too. Thank you, as always, for your patience. I’ll do my best to reward it.

Kimi2 is LIVE!

Limited Editions. Kimiko and the Cycle of Moons has updated over on my Patreon with Ch1: “Daytrip,” because there were all those designs released by Junzi chocolates in honor of the fourth anniversary of the Emergence. (Enough to make a collector’s heart go pitty-pat.) And some of them were exclusive to different prefectures. Remember? ::twinkle::

Kimiko and the Cycle of Moons

Nearly There. As a nod to the day (it’s my 17th fanniversary), I planned to kick off Kimi2 today. The first chapter’s written, but I want to let it rest for a little bit, grab some food and coffee, and do a final editing pass before I post it to Patreon. As a reminder of what’s going on for Kimi & Quen, here’s a quote from Kimiko and the Accidental Proposal:

If THIS is the moment you’ve been waiting for … hey! It’s finally here! ::confetti toss::

For those of you who want to get in on everything from the start, patrons at the Twinkle tier ($4/month) will have access to this serialized story as it unfolds. Thank you for all the ways in which you support my storytelling. I appreciate it! forthright on Patreon >>

International Edition

Coming Soon! I’m pleased to report that the Amaranthine Saga will have a Russian-language edition. The publisher recently showed me the cover, which features art by artovbros. Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox will release in October.

The publisher has contracted more of the series, so I imagine we’ll be seeing sexy Quen and sexy Ash soon(ish). As an added bonus, they’ve given me permission to use the cover art on next month’s art cards for Patreon. It’s all very exciting! ::confetti toss::

Bard & Barbarian

Narrated Edition. Bard and Barbarian has been posting slow and steady over on my Patreon account. Reading along is great, but supporters on some tiers can now listen along. The story is being narrated by Travis Baldree. Ch60, “Portrait of a Lady” just went live for those in qualifying tiers. AND Ch56, Thwarted has unlocked for the Twinkle and Sparkle tiers.

New narrated chapters will arrive every other Wednesday, which means … there’s always something more to look forward to! Learn more about my Patreon here >>

Quarterly Art Card

September Mailings. In addition to the regular monthly mailing (this one featuring Jacques), the Quarterly Art Card goes out this month to patrons. This time around, I’ve selected a lovely lettered quote by Asha, one of her favorites from Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox. She generously gave permission for me to share her art with all of you. Here’s a zoomed in peek at the original:

Asha created both a full-color version with the blues and gold highlights of the original cover … but she also did a black & white version. Choosing which to print was a breeze because … I did both. The prints are reversible, so you can choose which side to display!

Lettered Tsumiko Quote by Asha
Size: 8.5″ x 5.5″ on felt-textured paper

Thank you to everyone who’s come alongside as a patron. I appreciate your supporting my storytelling in such a practical way. September is a great time to join the ranks of Glimmers, Twinkles, Sparkles, et. al. because later this month, I’ll be sharing the first chapter of Kimiko and the Cycle of Moons (Amaranthine Interludes, #3). This novel-length book will be a Patreon exclusive for now. It’ll give you ALL the kisses of Kimiko’s courtship along with other excitement at Kikusawa Shrine. Check out the various tiers and their perks here >>

September Mailings

Doubling Down. September will see both a regular monthly mailing & a Quarterly Art Card. Here’s a peek at the regular mailing, which will go out to patrons beginning at the Sparkle tier. Jacques Smythe in the suit on his book cover looks especially fine on heavy felted paper. And as a bonus, Lord Mettlebright’s man will bring a sneaky excerpt from Bk7: Rhomiko and the Confirmed Bachelor, which will release later this fall. Worth joining my glittering ensemble of supporters? Maybe!

I’ll show you the Quarterly Art Card soon. Look forward to it! forthright on Patreon >>

Also coming in September … a Patreon-exclusive. Think of it as a subscription story. You can read along by joining at the Twinkle tier ($4/month).
