Coop’s brows drew down. “You brought it up.”

“I was too honest,” muttered Shilah.

“What’s wrong with honesty? Don’t you trust me?”

“Would you trust you?”

So contrary! “Yeah, I would.”

“Then… I want another sigil.”

It was probably a diversion, but Coop was concerned. Glancing in the direction they were supposed to be going, he asked, “Is Jiminy’s reaver-ness too much for you? I thought Ninook’s sigil was pretty heavy duty.”

Shilah’s jaw worked, but he did answer. “I want it for you.”

“I have the one that protects me from Mutt’s allure.”

“That won’t protect you from monsters.”
