LMM 614: Alternative Medicine

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one with mastery.

“Lord, you’re big as a wolf,” Jacques complained in admiring tones. “Now set me down. I brought remedies for heartbreak.”

“Who said anything about heartbreak?”

I did. Just now. I’m a past master of the art.” Jacques crossed to his baggage, which included an insulated bag. “For starters.”

Timur unzipped it. “Ice cream?”

“Gelato. Fairlee’s been dabbling for my sake.”

“You… brought me gelato.” Timur seemed amused.

“Much safer than plying you with liquor, which only leads to strip poker and the sorts of dares that would leave you with a whole new set of regrets.”

Timur finally cracked a real smile.

  2. Jacques is Thee ideal person for any situation. If he was Amaranthine he’d be a chameleon. Always making himself into what other people need…. and right now perhaps Timur doesn’t need more understanding and manful support, he needs to be pulled out of wallowing and a decent dose of levity.

Timur does find his happiness. Jacques is SO good, can hardly wait to see what direction Jacques’s happy will take!

  3. Lovely update! I’m so glad that Jacques could break through the wallow and make him smile. Who wouldn’t for homemade gelato? ❤️❤️
