LMM 613: Hard

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the burly one.

Timur looked shocked. And ready to argue.

Jacques wasn’t finished. “Sacrifices are personal things, and you’ve made several. Twenty-four, if I recall correctly. It must be hitting you hard about now, knowing how many little ones you gave up.”

His face crumpled, tears spilled, and with a strangled sob, Timur hauled Jacques into his arms. Bodily.

Wingtips dangling above the floor, Jacques folded his arms around Timur’s shoulders and spoke soothingly, murmuring encouragements in all the languages they had in common.

“You’ll not have my hate, only my expertise.” Jacques tugged a curl and promised, “I’m treating your hair later.”

  1. I feel bad for Timur. He comes from loving stable parents and he wants the same. He must be feeling very used when all he wants is love and a family.

  2. Ooooh Timur😞 So young, and basically guilted into siring a sizeable portion of the next generation. A remarkable world he is part of, but the duty placed upon reavers is a very heavy one, and his more than usual.
