“So all it takes to lure you out is an espresso machine?”

Jacques guided Sinder forward. “Stop pretending to be upset and meet Harrison, who’s been most hospitable.”

The man’s eyes were bright, his hands already on offer.

“Hello. Charmed, I’m sure. Harrison, was it? I’m Sinder.”

“May I ask which clan…?”

“Sure. Why not? Do you believe in dragons?”

“Oh! Oh, my,” he breathed. “I’m quite beside myself. Please, make yourself comfortable! Coffee?”

“Okay, sure. Thanks.” And once he’d gone, Sinder shook his head. “He’s no reaver, Jacques. I’m almost afraid to ask. Why’d you say Harrison has potential?”
