Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who keeps a promise.
Jacques hadn’t realized he’d fallen asleep until a stealthy blanket settled around his shoulders. Strong arms were pulling, lifting, carrying, but he couldn’t see. He fumbled and found smooth skin, then traced along a collarbone.
“Oh, it’s you,” he murmured, for he’d know that collarbone anywhere.
“You made me promise. Tonight, you said. No putting-me-off later.”
“Lord. I did.” He admitted, “I left Josheb with Michael and Deece.”
“And Vanya is with his mother.”
“Plans dashed.” Jacques ventured, “Where are we off to?”
“You did promise.”
Jacques missed a beat. “I did?”
“Your tattoos,” Sonnet reminded. “Show me?”
