While Josheb whooped overhead, having challenged Ginkgo to a cannonball contest.
“Will you take a turn?” Jacques asked.
“Flight isn’t a novelty for me.”
“I almost can’t picture you flitting about.”
“I prefer to run.”
Jacques still couldn’t picture it. Sonnet was all aprons and rolling pins and rocking chairs. “I’d like to see that.”
“Next time?” He smiled tentatively. “I could escort you.”
“What is appropriate attire for running rampant?”
Sonnet gazed thoughtfully toward the moon, which showed pale in the blue sky. “Something more… rugged…?”
“Rugged,” Jacques echoed, testing the word. “I don’t think I’ve ever attempted rugged.”
