Argent drew up short. “I smell dragon.”
Jacques glanced between him and the welcoming committee. “Are you being rude to Sinder or obliquely ominous?”
“Tsk. There are other dragons hereabouts. Ones with whom I am not acquainted.”
“Your timing couldn’t be better,” called Sinder. “Harmonious wanted you summoned. You’re ahead of schedule. Welcome to the cabal!”
Jacques’ chin lifted. “I can’t attend a cabal looking like this.”
Sinder’s whistle wasn’t the complimentary kind. “Damp and disarray really aren’t your style.”
“Juuyu! Mon cheri!” Jacques pressed close. “You understand the needs of curls. Be a dear, and set me to rights?”

lol as much as I adore Jacques, he would surely be continuously dismayed by how disheveled I am on the daily. I remember to brush my hair…but uh only in the morning. My curls become frizz and cosplay as Hermione’s hair before too long.
