Kagome drew back to search Sesshoumaru’s face. His stripes had vanished. Was he surprised at her boldness? She was a little surprised at herself.
The first hue that seeped back was an enchantingly vibrant blue. Richer than loyalty. Deeper than trust. Steady as his gaze.
“What do you see?” he asked.
“Something new.”
“Hnn?”
“This blue. I think it might be love.”
He accepted that with an interested hum and remained focused on her, even though the others must be right there, watching. Their cheeks touched; he inhaled deeply and sighed against her skin. “If any could, you would know.”
