Kagome angled her head enough that he could see her smile. “I’ll bet Rin wanted to be held.”
He could not deny it. “Her trust was baffling.”
“And what about Jaken-sama? He loved you, too.”
Sesshoumaru huffed. “I was his lord.”
“They loved you.” Her tone gently chided.
“They are gone.”
“Love isn’t.” Kagome patted the hand he was meant to explain. “Love has a way of lingering. You can hold onto that love for all your days.”
Sesshoumaru hummed. And held onto her.
