Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially for the one who made a shocking choice.

Skybellow
Sonnet sniffed and asked, “You’re connected to my grandsire?”
“Acquainted. I’m closer to Mark. Well, I call him Mark.” Jacques had to think. “Valor.”
“My uncle.”
Jacques reached up to touch a gray streak in the wolf’s brown hair. “You’re the first sable Starmark I’ve met.”
“It’s Skybellow. My sire left the packs to bond with a daughter of Starmark.”
“Did he really?” Jacques drawled. “I wonder what his sire thought of his choices.”
Sonnet actually tittered.
Jacques sneezed and muttered, “Nobody mentioned it was going to rain today.”
Tutting, Sonnet offered, “My kinsmen run a tearoom nearby. Shall we?”
