Chapter 174: Personal

A pillow was clearly an intensely personal item. Sesshoumaru turned his face, then turned his body, nuzzling into the cushion. He breathed deeply, untangling rich layers of scent. Interesting, but incomplete. Especially when their source was so near.

All it took was a tug, and she was in his arms. Was this the wish at work? He did not need comfort … surely.

But he curled around her, blinking hard. As if this human woman was a talisman against haunting memories.

Kohaku turned and crowded up behind, murmuring, “Me, too. Most nights.”

And that was all.

But it was enough.

    and I love how Kohaku responds sleepily and not really consciously.
    Is he hearing his thoughts, or is Sess just telegraphing his need and confusion without realizing it?
