For the next two days, Sesshoumaru made no effort to shift out of canine form. No one asked for his reasons. He did as he pleased. But he was beginning to question himself.

Since when did he hesitate? Since when did he need excuses?

Naturally, he could’ve offered valid reasons. He was conserving energy. No one expected him to speak. His senses were unfettered by form.

But something else held back. A flicker of curiosity. A question with no answer.

Kagome.

She kept touching him indiscriminately.

What if she continued to do so after he shifted?
