Chapter 150: Pitiable
A once-proud building sagged drearily. Beyond weathered. Probably abandoned. And Kagome wasn’t sure if she was looking at the reason… or a result.
Two blackened pillars flanked the shrine entrance. To one was chained the carcass of an unnaturally large beast. Long dead, it was little more than bones. From behind the second pillar straggled a living version.
Dirty fur. Jutting bones. Festering sores.
The growl that whispered their way was a pitiable thing. Hardly loud enough to be heard over the drag of its heavy chain.
Was it warning them away? From what?
There was nothing left to protect.

This is too sad and heartbreaking. And you manage to convey it in just 100 words. Can they keep it and heal it again?
