Chapter 139: Undocumented

“Sadness comes and goes. So does happiness,” Kagome said. “That’s why it’s so important to have people who are willing to stay.”

Sudden color change meant her words had hit a mark. The only problem was… it was a new, undocumented color. Pale orchid deepening toward plum.

“Hnn. Perhaps.”

Perhaps? Hadn’t he demanded she stay? Couldn’t he see that worked both ways?

So could hair-holding. She grabbed and twisted until her knuckles brushed his cheek. “We’re here for you, Sesshoumaru-sama.”

He angled her head, perused her scent for several giddying moments, then murmured against her ear. “Here comes the sun.”
