When Sesshoumaru crooked his fingers, Kagome unwisely scooted into range. It was déjà vu when he captured a lock of her hair and used it to pull her even closer.
“Erm … yes?”
“I am not happy.”
She had no idea why this was delivered as an accusation. Especially since his stripes argued against him. Their clear aquamarine only appeared in serene moments.
Bonding with Inuyasha and Kohaku must have been a balm. Did that make her a fly in the ointment? If so, she was sorry.
“Maybe not happy,” she allowed. “But you’re not always sad. And that’s something.”
