“Likewise.” Sesshoumaru’s gaze lost its focus. “I wanted to die.”
“I won’t let you.”
“You stopped me.”
Inuyasha winced. “I hurt you.”
“You saved me.” Sesshoumaru managed to make it sound like an accusation.
“I’m not sorry.” Memories of that battle still haunted him. “Idiot.”
His brother’s brows drew together. “I am not happy.”
“Ever been happy?”
After a long while, Sesshoumaru sighed. “Perhaps.”
“That’s good, I guess,” said Inuyasha. “That way you’ll know when it happens again.”
“Hnn.”
“Promise me something?”
Sesshoumaru’s nod was slow in coming.
Inuyasha roughly ordered, “Don’t leave.”
