Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially for the conscience-stricken one.

I’ll Not Go Easy
Jacques had long cultivated a careless nature. Not with appearances—heaven forbid—but with relationships. Easy come, easy go. But last night had been compelling. Unequal to any other. Unique. And Jacques wanted Deece and Michael to include him again.
Possibly even always.
And that little wake-up call scared Jacques, because he was used to losing the things he wanted most. Like Argent.
Coming here had been far from easy. And whether devastation or humiliation awaited, Jacques wouldn’t easily let go.
Possibly even never.
So Jacques turned his back on the fox and the dragon, and reached out to Deece.
