LMM 24: Consensual Arrangments

Lord Mettlebright’s Man

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.)  Indulge the lot of us, especially the one with all the questions.

Chapter Twenty-Four: Consensual Arrangements

“Admirable. And possible, if you’re patient.” Michael watched him closely. “If you were Amaranthine, manners would dictate that I ask permission.”

“For what?” Jacques asked warily.

The reaver smiled. “May I touch you, Jacques?”

“Why? Where?”

“I’ll hold you while we sleep. Or you can hold me, if that’s more to your liking.”

Jacques gave in to disbelief. “What are you after?”

“Trust.” Michael indicated the oversized pussycat huddled in the corner. “He is offering comfort in his own way, with closeness.”

Jacques did a double-take. “He’s licking his chops.”

“Hiding yawns,” Michael corrected. “He’s knackered.”

“Then… come to bed.”
