Jiminy paused to check Coop’s sigils. There was a lot of handwaving and finger-twiddling.

Bumping shoulders with Torloo, Coop asked, “Can you see what he’s doing?”

“Yes.”

“Describe it?”

“He is writing upon the wind with threads of power, which have a gentle sort of brilliance.” Torloo hummed. “They feel peaceful and friendly.”

Jiminy said, “I thought that Ephemera might reveal themselves to a non-reaver if they had a welcoming aura. At least, that’s the idea.”

“It’s not working the way you want?” asked Coop.

“Nope.”

“What’s it supposed to do?”

Jiminy cheerfully promised, “If it’s working right, you’ll know.”
