Shilah, who huddled anxiously behind Coop, muttered, “Reckless name for a reckless boy.”

Jiminy’s brows shot up. “With wolves, it’s all about boundaries. You crossed his. Or invited him past yours.”

Coop loved that idea. So much.

Once their tour of Bellwether enclave was underway, Shilah pulled Coop aside. His teasing smile showed a peek of fang. “Your pack name is Crash.”

“It’s Coop.” And since they were talking about names. “Are you Chumani?”

“Does it matter?”

Maybe it didn’t.

Easing closer, Shilah whispered, “She liked you.”

“Do you like me?”

The coyote gruffly reminded, “I’m doing this for Daroo.”
