Coop was on enough pins and needles to weave a pine needle basket, one of the camp crafts he’d attempted.
Finally, Ninook returned.
“What did my dad say?” Coop blurted.
“I spoke with Charles at length, and so long as we return to Wardenclave before the Frost Festival, he has given his permission.”
“What about Mutt?”
Mutt shook his head. “This is my place. I must wait here.”
“Are you sure?” Coop didn’t like the idea of leaving him behind.
“My limits are not your limits. Go. Explore the world. I’ll see you and your kindred when the season turns.”
