Heads turned. Bryce guided his Kith closer. “What’re you doing?”

Coop’s handsign meant back down.

Nearby Kith yipped with laughter before sounding out, giving their names as they were sung in wolvish.

Leaf was Silvering the Leaves.

Lake was Luster on the Lake.

Halo was Moonbow Blessing.

Grin was Laughing Crescent.

“Hey!” called Dominique. “What did you do?”

Already sure of his next step, Coop sang out one of his and Rose’s favorite phrases. It meant give chase.

Mutt leapt sideways, playfully nipping Grin’s flank.

She bounded clear, nearly unseating her partner—Dominique.

Then Mutt bolted, and every Kith followed.
