Ours? Coop wanted to search for answers in Mutt’s face, but his partner’s hold was firm. So he asked, “Do you mean us…? You and me?”
“Who’s in charge here?”
“Oh. Gotcha. Okay, I feel stupid.”
“Humility is a welcome quality in leaders.”
Coop changed his posture as much as he could. “I’m not one of the leaders. That’s Dominique and Bryce.”
“They believe one thing. We know another. Lead the wolves as one of their own.”
Coop guessed that’d work. “Are my signals gonna be enough?”
“No.” Mutt was definitely smiling when he added, “I want you to howl.”
