Mutt’s posture shifted into something receptive, and Coop was glad. He had to check, needed to see if he was imagining the luster.

Warm skin, softly shining.

“I see.” Torloo’s voice seemed to come from a distance. “You have unusually strong allure.”

“It’s always been a problem.”

Coop was a little dizzy.

Might’ve been from not breathing.

Mutt caught Coop’s hand, brushed an apologetic kiss against the fingertips that had been petting pearly skin, and shifted back.

A big muzzle butted, and Coop sucked in air. Then went full grovel.

Torloo sat beside him and announced, “You will need warding.”
