“Will you let me ride?”

“Can you ride?” Radiance relayed lightly.

“Well, yeah. Daroo lets me pretty often.” Coop considered for a long moment, then admitted, “You’re bigger than he usually goes. Kinda perfect, since I’m short.”

“Up you go,” urged Radiance.

Mutt brought his back foot forward the same way Daroo always did, and Coop used the leg up, smoothly swinging astride. It was high, and he had to wonder if it’d give him any advantages in the battler games.

Leaning way down, hands already deep in Mutt’s ruff, Coop said, “Hey, partner. What do you say? Wanna run?”
