Mountain, Tree, Sky, and Sea

“You’re part star?”

Radiance asked, “Does your wolf ever tell impish bedtime stories?”

“Nope.” Coop always asked about wilderness survival stuff. Or for extra lessons in wolvish.

“Long ago, very near the beginning, the Maker spoke to this world, encouraging nature to respond. And so fragments stirred and woke, becoming people, just like you and me.”

“Are they a secret?”

“Most of us call them lost.”

“But somebody found someone. And they had a baby.”

“Yes. But when Mutt’s mother couldn’t bear to leave the sky, she entrusted her child to us.”

That sounded familiar. “Your mom left you, too?”
