“Well, yeah.” Coop’s thoughts returned to a summer day at the farmers market. “A new friend back home. Coyote clan.”
“Show this to your packmates,” urged Pierre.
Giang looked worried. “They need to know that someone’s using you.”
“That can’t be right.” He ventured, “Chumani’s… nice.”
Pierre held up a hand. “I’ve seen this sort of thing in books. It’s linked. It can act like a keyhole. With this, someone from outside could pick the lock. Get in.”
“Now that’s an interesting theory!” The only other trickster that Coop knew he knew dropped into their midst. Salali didn’t look happy.
