Big Family

Around mid-high, Torloo brought Coop to meet Farook-kel, who turned out to be another older brother. Farook had the same light brown hair as Boon, but he was quiet and industrious. Which meant he put Coop and Torloo straight to work, spreading straw in empty stalls.

“You’ve sure got a big family,” remarked Coop.

Torloo inclined his head. “I am the tenth child.”  

Coop tried to picture life in such a big family. “I love Rose, but I bet it’d be great, having lots more people to care about.”  

Torloo suggested, “Become a father?”

“Eh?” Coop managed another bewildered, “Eh?”
