Songs of the Amaranthine, #10. I clicked “publish,” so the newest short story is releasing! Kindle usually shows up within a few hours. Other virtual venues often take up to 5 days, but Pressed into Service is on its way!
Edit at 8pm PST – The story is LIVE! Go for it!

You can also shelve this story (or any of my books) on Goodreads. Follow me there!
Squee Post. If you need a place to react, confer, or kick up a fuss, this is the spot. I’ll enjoy your enthusiasm, I might be willing to clarify small points, but I reserve the right to evade questions that will be answered later in upcoming Interludes & Songs. ::twinkle::
[[[WARNING: HERE THERE BE SPOILERS]]]
Can’t find it on USA Amazon. Please post a direct link to Kindle version

So… when I press “publish,” it initiates the publishing process, but KDPress/the distributor has to go through various checks before the story will go live. I’ve done my part, and we’re all waiting. I’ve had books publish in less than an hour. But their disclaimer says it can take up to 72 hours.
Once the story’s live, I’ll certainly edit with a link to Amazon’s US storefront.

Pingback: Pressed into Service – FORTHRIGHT
I read it! (Really quickly, on the fly; definitely rereading for more lucidity.) Two questions popped up. How old is Murph? (For some reason, when I hear “Irish copy editor”, I imagine an older guy. I know you don’t do physical descriptions a whole lot, but do you have an age for him?) Also, since Levity is a wolf, is Levity her real name? Seems like more of a dog name.

In my notes for Travis Baldree, for when he does the narration for the anthology, I have Murph listed as “late thirties.” I think I had him mentally flagged as 38 years old.
And yeah, “Levity” is the name she chose when she and Divinity left their pack together. She still identifies as a wolf, but for solidarity (and as part of her disguise), she goes by Levity now.
