When Torloo said he wanted to stay close, he wasn’t exaggerating. Coop had to slow way down because every time he moved, he and Torloo would jostle into each other. It was strange, but in a really amazing way.

“I never had a friend my own age before.”

“My circumstances are similar.” Torloo shyly added, “Is it true? That you might run with us?”

“Not sure. Being homeschooled has always meant being home.”

“But you are willing?”

He’d need permission from Dad and Daroo, but if this was a question of what Coop wanted? Then the answer was simple. “Yeah.”
