Coop was glad Moon stayed back. Not because he needed protecting or anything. Just a little help. “I’ll need a hand with the pot.”

“I can see why.”

“We used to have a normal-sized one, but Daroo can eat. He’s the only one who can budge it.”

“Solid Amaranthine craftsmanship.” Moon slid a veritable cauldron from its rockbound hidey-hole, easing it onto their firepit’s equally formidable grate. “I’ve seen even larger ones at Song Circles.”

“Will there be one at Wardenclave’s Frost Festival?”

Moon’s tail wagged. “What’s a festival without a feast?”

“We’re going. I can’t wait.”

“Then… why wait?”
