Boon asked, “They targeted you?”

“Not exactly.” Torloo’s tail tucked. “I was beside Uncle Moon. He’s the one….”

“Hell and hellions.” Boon shot to his feet. “Where’d he get to?”

“Nearby.” With a sidelong look at Coop, Torloo softly added, “He did not want to alarm anyone else.”

Boon sighed. “Coop. You gonna panic if one of our pack’s got more than the usual amount of fur?”

What a weird thing to ask. “Nope.”

“You heard him,” called Boon.

Someone eased into the open. Coop saw the problem. And raised his voice. “It’s okay. I know you’re not a werewolf.”
