Brothers! Coop could kinda see it. The shapes of their eyebrows and noses. Matching skin color. But where Boon’s eyes were yellow, Torloo’s were the bright blue of clear skies.

“Let’s take a walk,” said Boon.

“But… Lass…!” protested Torloo.

“The mares are doing their best for her. And fresh air would do you good.” Boon quietly added, “You can give me your report. As an Elderbough tracker.”

That did it.

Torloo straightened, and his chin came up. “I can do that.”

Coop was relieved for him. Then amazed anew, because he realized something important. “Are you, like, Elderbough Elderboughs?”
