Light brown hair. Yellowy eyes. Coop had to ask. “Are you part of Daroo’s pack?”
“We’re not close kin,” replied Boon. “Distant cousins maybe. On my dad’s side.”
“You’re not Clearsongs?”
The big wolf blinked, then slanted a look at the huddled boy. “You didn’t introduce yourself?”
Coop jumped in. “We can be friends, even without names.”
“That’s now how wolves do things. How ’bout this. I’ll go first. Then you. That’ll give my baby brother time to gather his courage.”
“I’m not a baby,” grumbled the boy. To prove it, he held Coop’s gaze and declared himself. “Torloo-dex Elderbough.”
