Chumani pulled Coop behind a stall. “Didn’t you hear anything I just said?”
“I mostly only paid attention to the parts that matched your posture.”
“You think posture can’t lie?” She stepped so close, her next words tickled his ear. “How old do you think I am?”
“No idea. Does it matter?”
“I could be ancient.”
“Are you?”
Chumani whispered, “You’re letting me get away with too much.”
Coop’s voice cracked when he said, “Not sure what you mean.”
“Coyotes are thieves.”
“I don’t have anything worth stealing.”
A light touch proved him wrong. Stealing his first kiss, Chumani vanished.
