They paused under a sugar maple to eat their snack. Coop waited until Chumani finished licking cinnamon sprinkles from her fingertips before asking, “What’re you planning to show me? Because I know my way around.”
“You’re clan-curious.”
“Well, yeah.”
“I’m not so much showing you around as showing you off. To the kind of folks you want to meet.”
“Really? Wow, that’s great! But… you first.” He put his hands out again. “It’s bad manners to skimp on introductions.”
Chumani met his palms. “And you want to know my clan…?”
“I’m pretty curious.”
With another heart-flipping smile, Chumani said, “Coyote.”
