Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in a certain boy’s adventures because the Amaranthine Saga & Songs are mine. Please continue to indulge the lot of us, especially the one who learned cool crafts.

Summer Courses

Coop had been learning knots since before he knew they were important to Daroo’s people. Dad had encouraged him to add extracurricular activities to Coop’s homeschool curriculum. Summer courses suddenly included wolf culture—postures, handsigns, howls. And knots.

Hours of fun. Practical, purposeful fun. Because cords and beads and bits of bone could send messages.

Ones Coop was wearing now.

Daroo quietly asked, “Hoping to catch someone’s eye?”

“Yessir!”

“Look. If there are Amaranthine at the farmer’s market. If. Then they like mingling with humans, despite the risks. Be sure your curiosity doesn’t endanger someone with secrets to keep.”

“Yessir!”
