Coop was excited for their trip all the way up until Daroo warned them how long it would take to get passports.
“But that’s months! We’ll miss Dichotomy Day!”
“That was never an option.” Dad passed him a brochure. “Four-hour bus tours are booked out for two years.”
“Years?” Disappointment cracked Coop’s voice. “Can’t we just go? Daroo could take us.”
“Riding a wolf across international boundaries isn’t exactly subtle.”
Daroo added, “Or legal.”
“So… I have to wait until I’m seventeen?”
Dad and Daroo traded a look. Dad said, “Until October. We’ll be camping. And attending Wardenclave’s Frost Festival.”
