Chapter 290: Melancholy

All of Sesshoumaru’s wanting turned to pining, so that by day’s end, melancholy swamped his senses. He couldn’t sense Kagome, couldn’t smell her, couldn’t reach her.

Shishi crowded so close, he was more mother hen than lion-dog, and under the cover of all his bronze fur, Kohaku held Sesshoumaru’s hand.

Shippo barged into their midst. “Want a story?”

“Hnn?”

“I got plenty,” the kit boasted. “Real good ones. About Kagome and me.”

“Tell me,” he urged.

So the kit spun his tale, casting Inuyasha’s pack in the role of adventurers, with Kagome at their heart. And it helped.

A little.

  2. 300 is a good number too, but I can’t help but feel disappointment when every story ends at “I love you.”
The reveal is lovely, of course, but I want to know about what comes after~
