Chapter 246: Treacherous

They followed a creek to its source, a sheltered meadow where russet butterflies fluttered between swaying flowers.

“Rest here,” said Inuyasha. “We’ll check around. Could be there’s a hut or a cave. Or there’s a village over that way.”

Kagome waved them off, grateful that Shishi stayed back. She turned in time to see the treacherous lion-dog trot into the woods, nose to the ground. Leaving her alone with Sesshoumaru.

She tried not to focus on periwinkle, pink, or lavender thoughts. Especially not orchid.

Sesshoumaru stole up and spoke into her ear. “Are you trying not to think about me?”
