Chapter 88: Focused
Days passed, and nothing moved him. Not his brother’s growling. Not the monk’s witty asides. Not the kit’s soft whines. Sesshoumaru refused to speak, to eat, to bathe. He closed out the world so completely, he would not even open his eyes.
He needed to think, to focus, to understand. He needed to remember.
What did she say? What did I say?
And at that perilous moment, when the Jewel thrust its answer upon them, what had the question been?
Theirs had been a mongrel wish. Ill-conceived and half-formed.
Think. Focus. Remember.
Had the miko shown any sign of change?

Ohhh boy I can’t wait to see if he’s noticed changes in Kagome…

Get that analytic brain working Sessh. He is going to be miserable until she gets back. Kohaku? Did he go to the future with her? Or just escort her to the well? Did I say I love this story…again?

So he recognizes the strength of their connection but cannot phantom what was in their hearts/minds that forged something so strong?

Had a bit of a brain fog. I’m guessing Kagome and Kohaku went to Edo for supplies. The well is closed, isn’t it? Night shifts and not enough sleep will do that.

I remember Kagome wishing/hoping she’ll understand Sesshomaru… I have to go back to ‘that’ chapter to remember what Sesshomaru said.
