Kagome stared mutely into the fire, fingers wrapped around the Shikon-no-Tama—whole again, hers again, and ominously heavy. But wishing it away would have to wait.
“I’ll go.” Inuyasha paced. “He came from that way.”
Miroku hummed. “That is not much to go on.”
“Keh. Gotta try.”
“I’ll go with you,” Kagome offered.
“No. You and Shippo keep an eye on the bastard for me.”
“I’ll go.”
Inuyasha met Kohaku’s unwavering gaze and muttered a resigned, “Keh.”
Kagome knew why the hanyou was so rattled. He’d warned them off, shielding his brother. But I saw. Sesshoumaru had shed a tear.

I’ve said it before but I REALLY LIKE when the brothers are…brotherly. Like not best friends or anything, but when they’ve come to an accommodation that befits the fact they were allies against a common evil and have the chance to be something closer to kin now that they understand where the other stands.

Ah, so Inuyasha and Kohaku will find Rin and Kagome will use the jewel to bring her back since Tensaiga can’t be used a second time on the same soul (and the poor girl has already died twice before this). But she’ll be different, as the summary for the story said – different colors. I’m interested on how you’ll turn that trope on its head and make it work for you.

Hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnhg Sesshoumaru, is this because of the whole father thing? Is that it? It’ll be okay, InuYasha’s defending your honor and Kagome will patch you up! And you will see your father again eventually! (Just don’t go and see him now. We still need you alive!)
