Chapter 3: Ruined
Inuyasha tossed aside his brother’s ruined armor. Bent spikes and rent plating were useless now, but they’d saved the bastard’s life. Barely. Glistening organs bulged from one particularly nasty gash. Be strong. Heal, already.
Kagome whimpered.
When the hanyou saw where her hands were pressed, he gulped. “Miroku, get over here! Fast!”
He kept one eye on Kagome. She looked pale and ready to pass out.
Miroku picked his way across the scorched battlefield. “What happened?”
“Sesshoumaru ain’t doing so good. Help me put him back together.”
“Surely you exaggerate.” But the monk’s step faltered. “Oh, my. You do not.”
