Some good questions have been cropping up across the threads. Rather than simply pass notes and whisper behind hands, let’s share my answers with the Whole Class. ::wink::
Will your books have 100-word chapters?
No! Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox (and the rest of the books in the Amaranthine Saga) will have nice, long, “proper” chapters. This is a novel of some substance, with more than 450 pages in the print edition. Or … to put things into more familiar fandom terms, Tsumiko’s story hit 96,000~ words.
Will Hisoka-sensei be a cat demon?
Not exactly. The good sensei is not a demon/youkai because I’ve introduced the Amaranthine people. As stated in the story summary: “They are our myths and legends come to life. Neither human nor animal, yet embracing qualities of both, the inhuman races inspire both awe and fear.” Even so, you’ll know your beloved sensei at a glance. Hisoka Twineshaft is a member of the cat clans, and he retains his pewter pelt and orange eyes. In fact, after many centuries teaching at the reaver academy, he’s affectionately referred to as Sensei by many of his former students.

Is the first book available for pre-order yet?!

Not yet! But Miss Tsumiko at the printer, so I don’t think it’ll be much longer before the title starts showing up in virtual venues. We should have a book-spotting party when it does! ::twinkle::

I really love that cover :sigh: Also on a scale of 1 to 10 (ten being Apocalyptic) how bad do you think folk would react if Hisoka-sensei DIDN’T appear? (for the record, until I went back to re-read parts of IY for other reasons I totally forgot Hisoka was NOT canon)

ALSO – it may be a little early for this, but we should have a read-along. Create a GR group or Slack group or something so we can all squee together…

Oh! I am quite active on Goodreads, so that would be my first choice for the formation of a group.
I can (of course) host squee-posts and challenges *here*, too. In fact, I will. But why not carve a niche in that bookish community?

(though more seriously – I just threw that together. Everything about it is LITERALLY optional to change. I just had a moment and didn’t want to miss that shot)

And I made you a mod because it would be weird if you weren’t. Left the group as Private for now – but folk can request to gain access by asking a very simple question of “Hisoka-sensei is…?” very open ended XD

I have much experience in wearing the mod cap. I shall fuss about the edges a bit.
Once my book shows up on GR and I’m granted official author status, we’ll post links.
Thanks, Lexie!

We’re already working on the cover for Book 2 … and I’m really loving the whole “new classic” feel we’ve given the series. It warms my book-lovin’ heart!
Hisoka-sensei’s presence gives the series much of its framework. Much like the Emergence, I doubt it would have been possible without him. ::twinkle::
…you’re not the first person to mention forgetting that Hisoka-sensei isn’t canon. Which may be why I was duty-bound to create a universe in which he is!

I’m so excited for this! I can’t wait for the next one too and I haven’t even read the first one LOL But honestly you have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for this series. Also I’m so excited for Hisoka-sensei! Will he have a big role in the series? I know he most likely won’t be a main character unless you pull some twist on us oh ho ho! But for real, I’m gonna squee so much when I first read his appearance!

I was very sneaky and put the summary for Book 2 at the end of Book 1 … but only in the print edition. (Bonus?)
I can promise that Hisoka-sensei will be a steady presence throughout the series, but I won’t explain more. ::twinkle::

What’s really fun is that you’ll have both the Amaranthine Saga AND the finale for Imperceptible to look forward to on 2/22.

Is there eventually going to be the possibility of purchasing signed copies~?

Yes, I think that could be worked out. Maybe with payments via an Amazon gift card?
(In my case, that’s practically paying for books with books! Pure barter!)

Are the print editions and digital ones coming out rhe same day? I can’t wait to finally have one of you works on my bookshelf. Your work inspired me to get back into writing, and I’m currently hip deep in edits as I tighten everything up for my critique people(squee!)…and having an original story by you to read inbetween chapter edits would be awesome! 😍
