Chapter 31: Nuptials
The entire village flocked to the Sunset Shrine for Kagomaru’s nuptials. Some praised him for his good fortune; others wondered at his tastes. The young man firmly corrected those who said he’d tamed Sesshoume, and he laughed outright at the ones who cautiously asked if she’d ensorcelled him. To his relief, no one openly spoke out against the bride who stood solemnly beside him, a white covering partially hiding her demonic features.
“I’m sure they’ll get used to the idea,” he whispered optimistically.
“Of course, dear,” Mama agreed with a smile. “It goes to show how much they trust you.”
