Clumsy 006: Accident Prone

Chapter 6: Accident Prone

“Didja shoot her?” Souta asked.

“Well… yeah. Accidentally.”

“Huh. That’s even worse than that time you fell into the well!” his little brother teased.

“Hey, that was a fluke!” Sagging, Kagomaru mumbled, “I never intended this.”

“Hold her head,” their mother directed. He tilted the demoness’s chin while his mother held a spoon to her lips. Mama crooned, and her nostrils quavered; lips pouted, then parted enough to accept a dribble of warm milk.

Souta goggled. “Lookit those teeth! D’ya think she’ll attack?”

“She can’t,” Mama replied.

“Yet,” Kagomaru added miserably.

“How come?”

Mama smiled. “Your brother accidentally sealed her.”

  2. You’re amazing! I love all the stories you right! You do such an outstanding job of keeping the characters in character, and giving them a little twist of something new. I’m always on the edge of my seat when I read the updates and am always left wanting more! I can’t wait for the next updates!!

  3. Ah that chapter I remember. Btw I suddenly got a brainstorm. I know this is a genderbent only for Kagome and Sesshoumaru but what if Souta wasn’t a boy but a girl? Kagomaru would have a little sister lol.
Anyway this story is so good. Pls keep updating.S

    • That thought also crossed my mind, but in a story with 100-word chapters, focus is key. The less explaining I have to do, the better. So I’m relying on your preconceived notions about the rest of the cast.

  4. I’m really enjoying this story! As these chapters add up, I’m wondering if there might be an easier layout for us readers. Maybe a way to jump to a specific chapter or at least an easier way to locate certain chapters than “previous chapter” “next chapter” and “first chapter”. An index would be helpful, in case we want to refresh ourselves on certain details but don’t know where to find them and don’t have time to skim through hundreds of chapters. When you recently resumed updates on Lord Charming I reread the story from the beginning at least 6 times (I honestly lost count), but then it eventually became more convenient to just reread the last hundred chapters or so. I’d choose where to start either by chapter number or chapter title. Anyway, that’s just a thought. I’m so glad you’re continuing this story! Thank you!

    • Although your suggestion is a good one Goldenmirth, that might be a bit difficult. This is a blog setup through WordPress, and though I’m not much of a blogger, I do know a little bit about the back end of these sites. It may be more of a hassle to make an index like you’re thinking than Either of us realizes. I did a quick search, and there are lots of plugins, but like I said, finding a good one that will last might be difficult/time consuming. Let’s not feel too disappointed if it doesn’t happen soon. (Or at all) 😅

      • I was afraid of that. I know nothing about webpage design or setting up a blog, but I’m sure you’re right. No doubt we’ll all eagerly await updates, layout notwithstanding! 🙂

      • I’ve created index pages before, updating them by hand with links whenever there’s a new installment. However, I wanted to streamline this blog to reduce maintenance. So we’ll rely on WordPress’s handy tagging system! ::twinkle::

    • The simplest way to skim past chapters without my having to create a Table of Contents page is to use WordPress’s handy tagging system. Posts are tagged. You’ll find a tag cloud in the blog’s footer. And thanks to your suggestion, I’ll include a link to the Clumsy tag in the end notes of upcoming chapters.

And I’m glad you take the time to look back in Lord Charming for context. There’s no room in those tiny chapters to remind readers what’s gone before!
